Reminders:
 - Monday, March 31st is the last day to turn in your March reading log.  I will NOT be passing out an April reading log.  Please make reading a part of your evening routine.

- Saturday, March 29th at 5 pm all second graders will sing in church.  Please meet in the balcony music room at 4:40.  Thanks to Mrs. Walker for covering for me. 

- Cardinal's Opening Day is Monday.  Mr. Debric has declared a special dress down day to celebrate.  Monday, March 31st everyone can wear jeans and a Cardinal shirt.  Yippee!!

- Achievement Testing will start Monday, March 31st. 

Friday is FEED and READ day!  To celebrate the conclusion of testing week, all 2nd graders will enjoy a relaxing day of reading.  Each student may bring one blanket and a pillow or stuffed animal.  Please bring these items to school in a garbage bag.  Also, the kids may bring in a Ziploc bag with two snacks.  Sharing food is NOT allowed.  Water bottles are allowed.  Only water please.

Reflecting on our Week:

In math we are learning how to measure using feet and inches. We took turns measuring each other.

 Our class quilt is finished and it looks AMAZING!!! Sara Ruprecht donated the quilting and the fabric! She has done a wonderful job finishing off the blocks that the students started last month. She included a class picture on the back. The Friendship Quilt is our class donation to the Zion School Auction.

 We had a great time at our Pizza/Game Party that was provided by the Auction Committee. Our class had the most donations for the auction; we won a fun day of bowling which had to be changed to a fun game day instead. Mrs. Cluck's seventh graders and Mr. Smith joined us.

Grandparent's Day is a favorite time of the school year! It was nice to meet so many grandparents. Students got a chance to show their grandparents a few ways we use computers in the classroom. Second grade has changed a lot over the years! Many grandparents were shocked to find out that their grandchild will learn how to type accurately in third grade.

New Information:

Bowling party on Thursday: Please remember to bring booster seats if your child is under 8 or under 80 lbs. You don't need to pack a lunch on Thursday because Harvest Lanes will provided a pizza lunch.

Grandparents Day on Friday: This is a no backpack day so please leave backpacks at home. Reminder that this is also a non dismissal day.

Reflecting on our week: We had fun investigating seeds. Many of the students worked hard to open the seeds to see what was inside. We made predictions, did some investigating, and then drew observations.
