Reflecting on our week:
We focused on sentence structure this week. Avery is helping out by identifying the subject and the predicate in the sentence on the SMARTBoard.

 We started Chapter 12 in Science, which is all about magnets. Everyone got to feel two magnets attract and repel. I think they could sit and play with magnets for hours! They are really enjoying this chapter.

 We started centers this week and everyone did a wonderful job. I think the students love the hands on learning and the differentiation that is possible during center work.

 The Photography Unit was a HUGE hit! First we watched a slideshow of photographs on display at The Art Institute of Chicago. We talked about "filling the frame" and then the students got to practice taking their own photos. I will print these photos and put them in a photography portfolio the students to take home. They were very proud of the pictures they took!
